Day 3.
This morning Don went to the same imaging center as yesterday for still 2 more tests. However, the area in the center was absolutely unbelievable. First 4 men carried Don up 3 steps and then down an awful twisted stairway into the basement of the center. He was taken into this little back room, which didn't look clean, and the equipment looks like its from the 1800s. To be perfectly honest, the only thing I could think of while there was where they used to take girls to have a secret abortion. I'm sure everyone has seen that on television. It was very creepy and unpleasant. After the test, the men all came back and carried Don back up. I paid and away we went in our waiting taxi.
We came back to our room and don had another injection of stem cells, just in his arm. The big one is still scheduled for Monday.
At 2:30 this afternoon, they had a "Meet and Greet" down in the therapy room, where we met everyone that is here. There were 2 other couples, one from upstate NY and the other from New York City. There were also five others, 2 from Germany, three people from Chicago. Interesting enough, the 2 couples from NY are also patients of Dr. Horowitz. One from the city has had some neuro issues for a long time. But the other couple, who are in their mid 30s, could be an exact replica of us. The man in the wheelchair has motor neuron disease. They tried treating for Lyme. And it went on and on. Mid 30s. Hes lost the use of both hands and legs. But everything else is fine. They are all only here for 8 weeks. One other couple goes home tomorrow, to Indianna. But we were down there for about 1 1/2 hrs. It was so interesting. We learned lots of info, where to pick up the metro which is wheelchair accessible, all kinds of stuff. So very glad we went.
Dons crashed now for the day. A very busy one for him.
