Day 13.

Well today has been a good day.  They called me at 9:00 this morning and said the Doctor wanted to speak to me. They had one of the surgical nurses, a young man by the name of Ajo, come with me. He was the one that put Dons new picc line in and sat with him in ICU for the previous 2 nights. Hes real nice and a good guy.

So we got out to the hospital and it was all such good news.  They were taking the ventilator out but wanted my permission to do a tracheostomy which would permit him to talk, to eat, and just be better. He can come back here to Nutech with it.  He then sent me to a second doctor to discuss it further.  We then called Dr. Geeta to get her feeling on it. They leave no stones unturned. However, when I asked if they had consulted Don about it, the Dr. said no, they consult the family first.  So then I had to go talk to Don about it, which I knew he would be in agreement.

The pneumonia was much, much better. He was pretty much breathing on his own, but still had the vent, more for some support. They were getting ready to take that out.

I kissed Don on the cheek goodbye, and Ajo put his forehead on Don's, and laughing said awww. Hes this great big tall guy, very different from the rest. So we all laughed and said our goodbyes.

Then being such a warm nice day, my friend Maria from downstairs and I went to Green Park Market.  I bought some frozen yogurt for later. We went to a cafe sort of like Starbucks. I had a Mocachilla.  They don't believe too much in cold milk. It was a little on the warm side, but very good.  I think it cost me approximately $2.00. The prices are crazy.

When Amy gets here, I want to take her there.  It was just a relaxing fun afternoon. My spirits are so lifted with Don being that much better. I wish I could have taken him exploring this afternoon.  Hopefully, I will be able to before we come home.
